Project Based Section 8
This Section 8 program runs through Riverside Plaza and thus must be approved
by the Administration Office. To apply, please make an appointment during our
office hours, we are happy to help you with the application. Below is some information
you should know.
- Once a tenant/applicant obtains S8 through Riverside Plaza, they may not
transfer it to other living communities.
- Only efficiency, one bedroom, and two bedroom apartments are available.
- Waiting lists apply for all unit sizes
- Section 8 one year lease signed at move-in; automatically converts to thirty-day
notice tenancy
- Must meet all HUD-Mandated eligibility requirements
- Must meet all eligibility requirements set by IRS for Housing Tax Credits
- Current tenants must fulfill all terms of any lease currently in effect prior
to receiving Section 8 assistance
- Must re-certify and meet eligibility requirements annually, with change of income,
change of household composition, or every 90 days if showing no income.
- Unit is inspected annually as part of Annual Re-certification.

Tenant based section 8 -Minneapolis
Public Housing Authority (MPHA)
This aid program, also referred to as Section 8 Housing Choice
Vouchers, is run and approved by MPHA. Please obtain voucher before applying.
- Acceptance of vouchers is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Must have voucher from Public Housing Authority (PHA) or Community Development
Agency (CDA). If the voucher is not from Minneapolis Public Housing Authority,
it will be transferred from the current agency to Minneapolis
- Must apply and have application approved by Management before beginning voucher
process.
- Must comply with MPHA-required re-certification procedures and inspections
- Unit is inspected annually by MPHA
- Section 8 Vouchers are accepted until property is full for S8 vouchers.
